The P.I.G. Hog Trap
A clear 10-step walkthrough from unboxing to trap mode. Follow the order below for a clean circle, a stable net, and a reliable set.

Inventory the kit and gather tools
Unpack the blue bag and confirm every included part. Lay out the T-posts, post driver, hammer, screwdriver, and impact driver before you begin.
Choose and clear the site
Pick a flat area with hog activity. Walk a full circle around the intended center and clear brush, limbs, and obstacles so the posts and net sit cleanly.
Mark the center and set the first T-post
Place the inner end of the longest layout rope at the center and drive a screwdriver into the ground to hold it. Stretch the long rope out and drive the first T-post at the end of that rope. Face the knotted / nub side of the post toward the center.
Install the remaining T-posts
Clip the short rope’s carabiner to the back of the first post’s center nub. Pull both ropes tight. Drive the next post at the end of the two ropes. Repeat around the circle until all 10 posts are in and spacing is even. Remove the measuring ropes.
Install the ground anchors
Place each anchor about 5 feet outside its matching post. Align each anchor with the post directly across the circle. Drive the anchors securely. Do not bury them so deep that the tops disappear.
Stage the straps
Unwind all 10 straps. Connect each strap from its outer anchor to its T-post, with the buckle near the post. Leave the straps loose for now.
Deploy the net and hang it on the posts
Remove the net from the bag and stretch it across the circle. Keep caps and rings facing inward. At each post: slide the bottom (midline) ring over the post, install the T-post bracket below the second nub, slide the top ring on, then start the strap. Work around the circle and tighten evenly so the trap holds shape.
Set the convertible cap
If deer pressure is high, feed slack and lay the cap flat. To use the cap, walk the rope around the trap, cinch it over the top, wrap it on a post, and half-hitch it off.
Training mode and baiting
Loosen selected straps and pull the cable / net so the center sits high enough to discourage deer, while the sides stay low enough to brush hogs’ backs. Create two main openings they can see through. Scatter bait lightly under the net, mainly in the middle and a little at the openings—only as much as they will eat in a night. Let the sounder feed and relax under the net for one to three nights, or longer if the hogs are shy.
Trap mode
When hogs are feeding calmly inside, convert to trap mode. Loosen the two straps holding the raised openings, take them off those points, bring them back around to the outer anchors, and tighten. Walk the circle, pull the net to the correct angle, and straighten the center ring. Keep cables running clean in the circle. Place bait in the middle. The set is now in trap mode.
